Lifeu Istene Movie Review

Young actor, script writer and associate director Pawan Kumar has demonstrated through his debut film “Lifeu Ishtene’ that he has to be taken seriously by the Kannada film fans and critics alike. This protege of Yogaraj Bhat has something in him that can really bring out some fresh thoughts and narration to films. Lifeu Ishtene just proves this point.
In a way Lifeu Ishtene can not be generalised as a film belonging to particular Genre. In that way even Yogaraj Bhat’s films do not fall under any established categorisation. But still what sets apart Pawan’s debut film is that he has tried to provide a gripping narration to a tight script. Though traditional minded critics can still argu that the film does not have any serious sensitive content or it sends some wrong signals to present day youth. Lifeu Ishtene is a worth a watch for its black humour, good technical support and a tight narrative.
It is fact that director Pawan Kumar has stormed what can be called as his mentor Yogaraj Bhat’s young constituency by packaging the things that appeal to sixteen plus and thirty below audience. In that way he wants to remain a shadow of Bhatru. The sequences featuring Diganth and his friend Satish can best illustrate this point as much as Diggy’s interacitons with two main heroines Samyuktha and Sindhu.
As for the performance of artists it is Diganth and Sanath who shine well with their lively performance. Infact takes the thread from where he left in Pancharangi and comes out a winner. Both the new girls Samyuktha and Sindhu clearly reflect the tendencies of present day young girls more effectively on screen. Both are quite expressive, but it is Samyuktha who betters in the dialogue delivery.
Mano Murthy’s two song compositions “Yaarige Helonaa’ and “Devadasa’ had already become hugely popular and the picturisations of these things once again appeal the audience. Jnana Murthy’s camera work follows the various moods of the situations to make a good impact. It is time that Jnana Murthy gets a bigger break in the commercial circuit.
Finally: Lifeu Ishtene is a must watch for all the youngsters, but for family audience it would be a neat entertainer.
